Burnout has three primary components: 1. overwhelming exhaustion, 2. cynicism and detachment, and 3. a sense of ineffectiveness and lack of accomplishment. Which, for many of us – particularly after more than a year of COVID – sounds like just another day. So how do you tell the difference between feeling a little run down and feeling full-on burned out? And how do you know if your burnout has become a clinical problem, and you need mental health care and intervention? In this course, we’ll talk about what burnout is (and what it’s not). We’ll look at the cultural and sociological factors putting all of us at risk for burnout. And we’ll review strategies to help you recover at work, in your personal life, and in life in general.
