How Highbrow works

Highbrow is an email subscription service that brings bite-sized courses straight to your inbox every morning. All courses are 10 days long and lessons take just 5 minutes to read.

All of our courses are in text format, and the materials are available right in the email. We believe that’s the simplest, easiest way to make learning an everyday habit.

Highbrow is free. Click here to browse our course catalog (all you need to sign up is an email address). After you’ve had a chance to fall in love with our free courses, get unlimited access to our Premium content for $10/mo or annually at just $48 for per year.

Unfortunately, Highbrow is a one-course-at-a-time deal. We want you to form a productive daily habit, but you shouldn’t tire your brain out. Thus, you can only subscribe to one course at a time.

Your course will start the following morning after you sign up for it. If it's Friday or a weekend, you'll get your first lesson on Monday. All lessons are delivered at 4AM PST / 7AM EST / 11AM GMT.

Highbrow will never sell, rent, or share your email address with any third parties. Your email address is currently only shared with our email provider. Your information is shared exclusively for the purpose of delivering our emails, meaning the provider is responsible for getting our email courses to you.

Sign up for a new course

To start a new course, just choose one of our courses (Keep in mind that you can only subscribe to one course at a time— choose wisely!)

Once you’ve selected a course, click the “Start course” button on the course’s page and fill in your email address.

Your course will begin the following morning. If it's Friday or a weekend, you'll get your first lesson on Monday.

You can start a new course at any time.

Choose your new course from our catalog.

Then, click the "Start course” button and fill in your email address.

Your current course will be paused and a new course will begin the following day. If you’ve started the new course on Friday or over the weekend, you'll get your first lesson on Monday.

Sure! You can cancel your current course by subscribing to a new one.

If you just want to cancel your course, follow this link. You can resume it at any time by re-subscribing to it.

This feature is already a part of our roadmap. But, unfortunately, we don’t have the opportunity to bring it to life right now. But we plan on improving our service’s functionality soon.

Email delivery

First of all, to ensure delivery, please add go@gohighbrow.com to your address book.

Then check your spam folder to make sure that emails didn't get caught in that email black hole. Look for emails from go@gohighbrow.com. If you find them in your spam folder, marking them as “not spam” should solve the problem.

If they are not in your spam folder, chances are you're using Gmail and our emails are going into your Promotions tab. If you find emails from Highbrow in your Promotions tab, start by dragging them into your Primary tab.

All of our courses are sent automatically, so 99% of the time, you’ll receive all the episodes without a problem. This time, you need to figure out where this episode got lost.

Our 30-day free trial is a great opportunity for new students to try out our Premium Membership program. It automatically switches to a charged subscription at the end of the trial period unless you choose to cancel.

We recommend starting a Premium membership with a new course. When you start a Premium membership in the middle of a course, it restarts so you can enjoy an ad-free experience and access a quiz at the end.

Of course! Just click “Cancel membership” at the bottom of any of your Premium email lessons or use this link and we’ll update your account. No cancellation fees and no fiddling around with a complicated billing page either.

You’ll receive an email confirmation that your Premium membership has been canceled successfully within 24 hours.

Your account will roll back to a free membership at the end of your current billing period (or the same day if you’re on a free trial). You’ll have access to all our free content and can switch back to a Premium account at any time by clicking here.
