How Highbrow works

Highbrow teaches you something new every day. As you sip your morning coffee and rub the sleep from your eyes, Highbrow delivers a short, 5-minute email lesson to help you learn anything from art and philosophy, to business and personal development.

Lessons are delivered one-at-a-time, for 10 days, and are followed by fun, knowledge-testing quizzes at the end of each course. What’s more, with over 300 courses in the Highbrow catalog, you’ll never run out of new things to learn.

Our courses are available only to Highbrow members. You can get the first 3 episodes of each course without a membership to get a glimpse into how it all works. As a member, you will have unlimited access to our entire catalog of 300+ courses, ad-free lessons, and fun end-of-course quizzes.

Sure, if you choose an annual membership, it will start with a 30-day free trial period. You don't have to stay with us for the whole year, and you won't be charged until your trial period is over. Just subscribe to a membership, try out Highbrow courses and cancel anytime before your free trial period is over.

Also, even if you don’t sign up for a Highbrow membership, you still can get the first 3 episodes of any course to get a glimpse into how it all works.

To start a new course, just choose one of our courses (Keep in mind that you can only subscribe to one course at a time— choose wisely!)

Once you’ve selected a course, click the “Start course” button on the course’s page and fill in your email address. Your course will begin the following morning.

Your course will start the following morning after you sign up for it. All lessons are delivered at 7 AM.

Unfortunately, Highbrow is a one-course-at-a-time deal. We want you to form a productive daily habit, but you shouldn’t tire your brain out. Thus, you can only subscribe to one course at a time.

You can start a new course at any time. Choose your new course from our catalog. Then, click the "Start course” button and fill in your email address.

Your current course will be paused and a new course will begin the following day. You can resume it at any time by re-subscribing to it.

Sure! You can cancel/pause your current course by subscribing to a new one.

If you just want to cancel your course, click “Manage subscription” at the bottom of any email from Highbrow or follow this link. You can resume it at any time by re-subscribing to it.

This feature is already a part of our roadmap. But, unfortunately, we don’t have the opportunity to bring it to life right now. But we plan on improving our service’s functionality soon.

Email delivery

First of all, to ensure delivery, please add go@gohighbrow.com to your address book.

Then check your spam folder to make sure that emails didn't get caught in that email black hole. Look for emails from go@gohighbrow.com. If you find them in your spam folder, marking them as “not spam” should solve the problem.

If they are not in your spam folder, chances are our emails are going into your archive, all mail folder, promotions tab, or some other folder. If you find emails from Highbrow there, start by dragging them into your primary tab.

All of our courses are sent automatically, so 99% of the time, you’ll receive all the episodes without a problem. This time, we need to figure out where this episode got lost.

We base our sending schedule on your current location. To get that information, we use data sent to us when you open our emails. If you’re a new subscriber, you may need to click on a few Highbrow emails in order for us to gather this data.

However, if you’re still not receiving your emails at 7 AM sharp, it’s possible that your computer, router, or internet provider are refusing to share this information. Try opening a few new emails from Highbrow using a different device (such as your smartphone) on a different network (like your 4G connection instead of your home wifi).

Also, be sure to add go@gohighbrow.com to your address book.

If you’ve recently been on the road and your timezone has changed, it may take a couple of days for our system to figure out your timezone.

If we can’t get your location data, you’ll still receive your lessons, but at 7 AM EST.

My Membership

If you subscribe to an annual plan, you’ll be charged after your 30-day free trial is over. Please, note that a free trial always expires at 12:01 AM GMT.

Of course! Just click “Manage subscription” at the bottom of any email from Highbrow. There you’ll find your subscription details and a cancellation URL.

If you cancel your membership, you won't be charged any further, and it will expire when the period you have paid for is over.

If you cancel during the free trial, you won’t be charged, and your membership will expire the same day.

Your subscription to a Highbrow membership will automatically renew on an annual basis. If you cancel your membership, it won't renew and your membership will expire once the period you have paid for is over.

Highbrow will never sell, rent, or share your email address with any third parties. Your email address is currently only shared with our email provider. Your information is shared exclusively for the purpose of delivering our emails, meaning the provider is responsible for getting our email courses to you.
