Product Number Two
Episode #10 of the course Amazon FBA fundamentals: From no-experience to selling your product by Erik Rogne
You’ve been reading this series of posts for nine days now, and this is your final one, number 10. If you have followed this entire course step by step with a physical item, which would be impossible because of shipping times and all, you would be on your way to financial freedom.
Since I know that isn’t the case, I will first advise that you save all of these lessons and go one by one through each email until you are finally comfortable with your first product.
That brings us to this lesson, your second product. Your first product was a long, bumpy road, but guess what? Product number two becomes a breeze. Once you’ve finished your first product successfully, all you do is repeat everything you’ve learned and optimize. Take notes through every step of the process and look for ways to save time and money for the next time around. You will come up on nuances that no one else has seen before, and your second product will significantly outperform your first.
I have some recommendations and tips before you dive into your first product and this business, though.
Learning everything quickly. I know you want financial freedom. Who doesn’t? There is a lot of competition in this space, but it has only just started. Get into this as soon as you can, learn everything, and dive in with both feet.
You, the entrepreneur. Make sure that selling on Amazon is right for you and fits your lifestyle. Make sure that you can commit to starting this business and that you can put in the necessary time. It takes a lot of hard work, and I would say don’t bother if you can’t commit a significant amount of time (~100 hours) in the beginning.
Research is your starting point. If you remember a while back, I pointed out that my favorite (and the most important phase) of the process is the research. You need to make this phase a priority, above all. It is a time-intensive process, and to help you out, I’ve created a detailed blog post that will show you how to find a product using the “Choosing Product Cheat Sheet” that I’ve made for you. Rather than guessing and checking against all of your research, this cheat sheet will quantify everything for you so all you need to do is check the boxes.
Remember—this is not the end. I want to continue interacting with you and help you on your way to being your own boss. Let me know if you ever need anything or have any questions!
