It included the great social changes of the Reformation and the discovery of the “New World.” Placing importance on secular concerns, Renaissance philosophy led into the Modern era of thinking and the Enlightenment. Great men began to see the church as less important and believed that questions of human experience could ultimately guide them to truth.
