Consistency is Key
You did it! Welcome to class 10 of HubSpot Academy’s SEO fundamentals course. We hope you’ve learned some new tactics to try out with your website.
Remember—SEO is a marathon, not a sprint:
– Apply best practices every time you create new content for your site
– Document changes you make and the results they have so you can repeat the tactics that work best for your website
– For consistency, create a checklist of these optimization steps for each new piece of content
Search engine algorithms are always changing, so stay up-to-date with what factors they use to prioritize. For instance, in April 2015, Google changed their search engine algorithm to prioritize mobile-optimized websites over non-mobile optimized websites. Suddenly, it became more important to mobile-optimize your website, even if the majority of your visitors aren’t typically viewing it on a mobile device!
It’s important to know that the primary goal of search engines is to serve the searcher. What does that mean for you? Well, it means that creating content that answers search queries (keyword phrases) is ultimately the best SEO strategy there is. You just have to make sure search engines can understand and find the content you create.
